EFFECTS OF MINOXIDIL, AMINEXIL, FINASTERIDE
Several topical and oral drugs have been developed in recent years to treat hair loss. Minoxidil is the most well known, marketed for more than 15 years under the brand Rogaine®, and is clinically proven.
Other compounds have proven instrumental as well, including some shown to boost the effectiveness of minoxidil, such as retinol, azelaic acid, copper peptides, and various minerals.
Aminexil, introduced by L’Oreal laboratories, is the result of more than a decade of research, and it is one of very few molecules other then minoxidil that has been shown clinically to regrow hair.
Spectral.DNC is a topical medication that combines both minoxidil and Aminexil, together with other compounds shown effective at boosting the effectiveness of minoxidil. Another remarkable innovation is use of the Nanosome, developed by DS Laboratories, that acts as a carrier agent to deliver active ingredients, along with vitamins, minerals, and herbal extracts, deeper into the affected area. Spectral.DNC is faster and more effective than other topical medications developed for hair loss, including Rogaine.
An effective oral medication is finasteride, marketed under the brands Propecia®, Proscar®, and others. It works to inhibit levels of the dihydrotestosterone (DHT) hormone in men. However, it is necessary to use finasteride forever. If you discontinue use, your new hair will begin to fall out again. The most common side effects of finasteride are decreased sex drive, difficulty achieving erection, and reduction in the amount of semen. The side effects, which are potentially serious, are reversible by discontinuing use of the drug.
For these and other reasons, it is undesirable to take oral medications for extended periods.
Because retinoids may cause fetal harm when administered to pregnant women, Spectral.DNC is contraindicated in women who are or may become pregnant. Women who can become pregnant must not use Spectral.DNC.
